National Make A Difference Day

by Lee Buford on October 5, 2010

Today is “National Make A Difference Day.”

You might not have realized that. Did you?

It is. Really. But, not really. By that I mean it’s not “officially” recognized as such by any specific organization or government agency…at least not that I’m aware. But today is the day for all of us to make a difference in the lives of those around us. Why today?

Here are five key reasons:

  • Today is the only day we’re guaranteed. We’re not promised tomorrow.
  • Someone in your life needs you today. Not me, you! Not tomorrow, today!
  • You are uniquely gifted to provide that certain “something” you do best. Do it.
  • Making a difference changes lives. Yours and theirs. Believe it.
  • You’re obedient to God. He created you for His purposes, to glorify Him as you love and serve others.

Make a commitment to make a difference today. Draw that line in the sand. Don’t be paralyzed by fear, regret, or procrastination. Make the call you need to make. Have the conversation you’ve been avoiding. Take the time to stop and help when you see the opportunity to do so.

Today is the day. Someone is counting on YOU!

Will you make a difference?
